Our story

Why I started GroIT

Helping local food travel less and rewarding the people who choose it.

A farmer’s perspective

Good food shouldn’t have to travel hundreds of miles.

I’m a farmer, and I’ve seen first-hand how unnecessarily far fresh food can travel. Produce can be grown locally, only to be transported hundreds of miles before it reaches people’s plates.

I created GroIT to make it easier to buy and sell fresh, locally grown produce in your own community — from farmers with surplus to home growers with a productive garden.

By choosing local, we can support growers, enjoy fresher food, reduce food miles and help build stronger communities.
